Biography

Rooted in Jamaica, Dianne A. Plummer’s journey into engineering and sustainable energy began with her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Technology, Jamaica. Her academic prowess was recognized with the Reginald and Irene Hendrickson Scholarship, supporting her foundational education.
Dianne’s career is a blend of academic excellence and industry leadership. At the University of Technology, Jamaica, she served as a lecturer, imparting knowledge on core engineering subjects and supervising award-winning renewable energy projects. Her contributions to academia include publishing research papers on energy sustainability and women in engineering, alongside introducing a Master’s-level course on Biomass and Biofuels.

Current Role

Lead Consultant at STEM Spark Solutions

As the Lead Consultant at STEM Spark Solutions, Dianne coordinates proposal submissions across various sectors, including energy, research, strategy development, and STEM education. Her consulting services encompass comprehensive energy audits, detailed research analysis, and expertly crafted proposals that secure funding for innovative projects.

Her notable projects include developing proposals for Read Across Jamaica Day, collaborating with major corporate entities such as National Baking Company, Digicel, and National Commercial Bank. These initiatives have resulted in substantial donations to schools, promoting STEM literacy and education.

Dianne’s dedication to excellence and innovation has been recognized with several awards, including the New Exporter of the Year from the Jamaica Manufacturers & Exporters Association and the IGNITE Innovation Award from the Development Bank of Jamaica.
